On a lovely warm day in the holidays we took a 'scoot' to Saltburn. Our first stop off was at the wildlife garden for a picnic and to see what animals we could spot.
We've set up a new page for our out of school children to show off what they've been doing at Fiddlesticks. You can find it by hovering over the activities tab above and clicking on 'Out of School Club' - for now we've just put on photos of the wonderful Lego creations that they have wanted to save and show off. However we will soon be adding photos and details of the other activities and competitions that our school children have been involved in.
First we made our sheep counters with cotton wool balls, card and googly eyes. We took our sheep outside and put them into different fields on our farm. We counted them with our magic wands and found the number sheep to match. Next we used our sheep to start exploring number problems and maths functions. We had a great time with our sheep and learnt lots.
When we were designing ideas for our play garden, one of the children really wanted to build a willow tunnel or house. We set to work digging out the area for our house and then carefully planted our sticks. We have watered them well and are now looking forward to watching them grow and weaving out own house.
