On our trip to the park, we saw the local council cutting down some trees, we asked the work man if we could take some home with us and he left us some fab logs. We used the to build our new bug hide and sanded down the smaller blocks to use with our building parts in the playroom - there were even enough left over to let the rabbits have some to play on.
We really enjoyed our trip to Hartlepool's Historic Maritime Museum, we tried our hand at knot tying, lifting cannon balls, loading ships, walking along the beams, building barrels and much more. We also loved exploring the ancient ship and watching the canon firing demonstration.
This week we took a trip to Arbeia Roman Fort, it was really exciting getting to see the ancient roman ruins as well as the amazing reconstructed buildings. Our favourite was defiantly the extravagant villa. After our trip we enjoyed some Roman themed activities, including our Roman Villa Building blocks with peg dolls, making our own Roman thumb pots, creating our own Roman villas outside and recreating some beautiful mosaics.
